Registered Charity Number 284582 Since 1999 SCaRF has promoted the need for young children to be provided with shaded areas within their school grounds so that they are protected from some of the damaging effects of the sun and they develop an understanding of "sun awareness" - the "Play & Shade" competitions.
The Playground Shade Winners
All winners are given finances to help their projects, £ for £ to match the money raised by the schools themselves, plus a certificate to commemorate the event.
